Foresight

See what’s ahead before you decide

Foresight brings your family’s whole financial future into one view: what you own and owe, the income you’ll live on, and what your family would actually receive.

Foresight's Overview screen for a sample family: on these assumptions the money lasts to age 95, with charts of investable money by age and yearly cash sources.
The Overview, shown with Meravor’s sample family. Every figure is invented.

Four questions, answered for your family

Will the money last as long as you do?

Year by year, from today to the age you plan to: work income, CPP and OAS, pensions, rent, and what you draw from RRSPs, RRIFs, TFSAs and savings.

What would tax and probate take?

The tax on the final return, probate in your province, and the costs at the end, if one of you died today and at the end of the plan.

Who ends up with what?

Beneficiary designations, joint ownership, your wills, and your province’s rules when there is no will, shown person by person.

What changes if you decide differently?

Retire earlier, sell or downsize the house, help the children now, take CPP later, or one of you dying first. Switch a scenario on and see the difference.

Built for real Canadian families

Foresight handles the things that make most planning tools give up: rental properties and their depreciation, private corporations and dividends, workplace pensions with a survivor share, annuities, a cottage you may name as your principal residence, farm and fishing property passing to a child, and accounts or pensions outside Canada. Tax tables are kept current for each province and territory except Quebec, which is not supported yet.

Take it to your professionals

Foresight turns what it finds into a list of questions for your lawyer or notary, your accountant and your licensed advisor, sorted by who to ask. Print a report with a Meravor cover, the disclaimer first, then your whole picture, and bring it to the meeting.

An illustration, not advice. Foresight shows what might happen under assumptions you choose: returns, inflation, tax rules and the law, any of which can be wrong or change. It does not recommend anything. Review any decision with a lawyer or notary, an accountant or a licensed financial advisor before you act.

Private by design

What you enter in Foresight stays in your own browser on your own device. It is not sent to Meravor, and nobody at Meravor can see it.
